Introduction to zPoint Products
Techsol’s zPoint Products division was created in March 2006 to deploy robust, wireless technologies into the Building Automation market, as well as Industrial and Home Automation markets. Techsol's Industrial and Security customers have been asking for low-cost, quality wireless communications systems for some time now. And our advanced Java Gateways (which were designed for building systems monitoring) have seen a wide range of deployments, from monitoring energy consumption in residential homes, to monitoring server farms in large corporations. But mostly, they have been deployed to monitor Building Automation (BA) and Factory Automation (FA) systems for the operations and maintenance staff. Now, there is a family of low-cost, interoperable zPoints available for those customers wanting a means to connect more end-points without the cost of cabling.
What are zPoints?
A zPoint is a monitored or controlled end-point, connected by ZigBee wireless mesh-networking, but communicating with other open systems and supporting a variety of messaging protocols including native ZigBee ZDP, ModBus, and ANSI 709.1 profiles — the object-based standard for device connectivity within the Building Automation industry.
zPoint Products is a division of Techsol, a North American (NAFTA) corporation specializing in low-cost embedded technology design and product fabrication. We offer a variety of products and programs that will save you money installing Building Automation Systems using our proven ZigBee-powered platform to mitigate risks. In addition, our solutions provide both energy cost savings and increased comfort and convenience for your customers.
Like the wired interfaces available for end-points, we offer these features:
- digital inputs and outputs
- analog inputs and outputs
- assorted specialty devices, such as light-sensors, humidity sensors, temperature sensors, occupancy sensors, etc.
- strong adherence to industry standards, including ANSI 709.1, USB, ZigBee, Ethernet (IEEE 802.3), ModBus, BacNet, Sun's J2ME, etc.
But, unlike typical wired end-points, we offer these benefits:
- Reduced System Costs with fine-grained modularization
- Reduced Installation Costs to enhance your competitive advantage and increase profits
- Production is performed in North America
The net effect is that we can get you to your goals faster, cheaper, better than by any other means.
And our proven hardware and software platform minimizes your project's risk elements!
